I am a British artist who currently lives and works in Bristol, United Kingdom. I predominantly work with oil paint, although I do not limit myself to a single medium, as I also include other materials and objects into my paintings.

During my undergraduate degree in Fine Art at the Bath School of Art and Design, I spent a year studying oil painting at the Xi’an Academy of Fine Art in Xi’an, China. The contrast between studying in a contemporary Western art school, to experiencing Xi’an’s more traditional and spiritual outlook, led me to develop a receptive approach to art and build an eclectic body of influences and experiences. Travel is a vital source of inspiration for my practice.

Since 2012, I have been holding an ongoing series of art workshops called Active Expression in England, China and Vietnam as I am intrigued by the spontaneous way in which children make creative decisions when producing works of art. These classes are opportunities both for the children to explore their creativity and for me to research and document their exploration.
